About the treatment

The Lift That Works at Depth
Ultherapy targets the deeper structural layer of the face and neck that holds everything up: the same layer surgeons tighten in a facelift, reached non-invasively, by focused ultrasound. Your provider can see exactly where the energy is going thanks to built-in visualization, which means precise treatment and predictable lift.
- Lifts the skin at the structural layer
- FDA-cleared and non-surgical
- Visible, ultrasound-guided precision
What is Ultherapy and how does it work?
Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses focused ultrasound to lift and firm the face and neck. It is the only non-invasive treatment that reaches the same deep structural layer surgeons lift during a traditional facelift, without cutting and without downtime.
The device delivers ultrasound energy at multiple depths in a single treatment, working both at the surface and deep below it. The energy triggers your skin to produce new collagen and elastin over the following months. Existing collagen also contracts at the moment of treatment, giving some clients a small immediate tightening effect.

The OrangeTwist Difference
Before any treatment, your provider sits down with you to map out what you want to change, assess your skin, and confirm Ultherapy is the right call for your goals. No guesswork, no upselling, just a plan built around you.
Ultherapy is the treatment patients ask for by name when they want real lift without surgery or downtime. It works deep in the skin to stimulate your body’s own collagen, so results build naturally over the months that follow and keep going.
Ultherapy isn’t a side offering at OrangeTwist. Our providers deliver it across our centers every week, which means the hands treating you have done this hundreds of times before. Every Ultherapy session is performed by a licensed provider with specific training on the device platform and supervised by our Medical Advisory Board.
Ultherapy often delivers best results as part of a broader skin and structure plan. Your provider may recommend complementary treatments such as biostimulators or RF microneedling to support and amplify the lift over time.

Your Treatment Timeline

You Review
Your provider will assess your skin, examine the area you want to address, and confirm whether Ultherapy is the right tool for your goals. They will walk through realistic expectations and discuss whether Ultherapy alone is enough or whether a combination plan suits you better. No pressure, no upsell.

Treatment Preparation
Avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days before your appointment where possible to minimize bruising. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks beforehand. Come in with a clean face. Eat beforehand. Hydrate.

During treatment
Your provider will apply ultrasound gel and position the handpiece on the treatment area. As the device delivers each line of energy, you will feel brief warmth and a deeper, spicier sensation on the deeper passes. Many clients describe the sensation as intermittent and very manageable. Topical numbing, an oral medication, or a combination can be used to keep you comfortable. Total treatment time is typically 60 to 90 minutes.

Great lift, no downtime
There is no downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately, including work, the gym, and your usual skincare routine. Some clients see mild redness, slight swelling, or tenderness in the treated area for a few hours to a couple of days. Stay hydrated, apply SPF daily, and your provider will share any additional aftercare specific to the area treated.
Lift that builds for months
Ultherapy results unfold on your skin’s own collagen timeline. Some clients see a subtle immediate tightening from the moment of treatment, as existing collagen contracts. The meaningful lift builds over the following three to six months as your skin produces new collagen and elastin in response to the ultrasound energy. Final results are typically visible at six months.

Results last one to two years on average
With maintenance treatments recommended to keep results consistent. The natural aging process and lifestyle factors continue to act on the skin between treatments, which is why a maintenance approach delivers the most consistent long-term outcome. Most clients return for a single maintenance session every 12 to 18 months.

Questions and Answers
Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses focused ultrasound to lift and firm the brow, chin, neck, and décolletage. It is the only non-invasive treatment that reaches the same deep structural layer surgeons lift during a traditional facelift.
The device delivers ultrasound energy at multiple depths in a single treatment, reaching both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin. The energy triggers your skin to produce new collagen and elastin in the foundational support of the face. Your provider can see the tissue on a screen as they treat, which is unique to Ultherapy.
Ultherapy is FDA-cleared for non-invasive lifting of the eyebrow, the area under the chin, and the neck, and for improving lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. Your provider will discuss what is appropriate for your goals at your You Review.
Yes. OrangeTwist offers both Ultherapy and Sofwave. Both are FDA-cleared ultrasound platforms that stimulate your own collagen and elastin to lift and firm the skin. The two treatments work differently, suit different anatomies and goals, and your provider will recommend the right one for you at your You Review.
Both use ultrasound energy to trigger collagen and elastin renewal. Ultherapy delivers focused ultrasound at multiple depths and reaches the deeper structural layers of the face, with visualization that lets your provider see the tissue being treated. Sofwave delivers parallel ultrasound beams at a single mid-depth with built-in surface cooling. Neither is better in the abstract. They are different tools, both available at OrangeTwist, and the right one depends on your skin, your goals, and your treatment area.
No. A surgical facelift is the most dramatic option for facial lifting and is the gold standard for advanced laxity. Ultherapy is a non-invasive option that reaches the same deep structural layer surgeons address, without cutting, sutures, or downtime. For clients with early to moderate laxity who do not want surgery, Ultherapy delivers meaningful, real lift. For clients with significant laxity, surgical options may give a more dramatic result. Your provider will give you an honest assessment at your You Review.
Yes. Ultherapy works best for specific concerns and degrees of laxity, and the right approach depends on your individual case. Every OrangeTwist client starts with a complimentary You Review where your provider will assess your skin, discuss goals, and confirm Ultherapy is the right tool.
Good candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity, want non-surgical lift, and have realistic expectations about gradual results. Ultherapy is not a substitute for a surgical facelift in clients with very advanced laxity, and your provider will tell you honestly if a different approach suits your goals better.
Let your provider know about any medical conditions, medications (especially blood thinners), previous skin tightening or laser treatments, history of cold sores in the treatment area, implanted electrical devices, and any recent cosmetic procedures.
Pricing depends on the treatment area and any combination protocols. Your provider will walk through exact pricing at your You Review before anything is agreed. TwistUp members receive exclusive pricing benefits on all treatments.
Most sessions take 60 to 90 minutes depending on the treatment area. Full face and neck treatments are at the longer end. Décolletage and single-area sessions are shorter.
Most clients see best results from a single session, with the full effect building over three to six months. Some clients return for a touch-up session after six months for amplified results, particularly with more significant laxity. Maintenance sessions every 12 to 18 months keep results consistent.
Yes. OrangeTwist offers financing through CareCredit, Alle Cherry, and PatientFi. Ask your provider about options at your You Review.
Some clients notice a subtle immediate tightening from the moment of treatment as existing collagen contracts. The meaningful lift builds over the following three to six months as new collagen and elastin develop. Final results are typically visible at six months.
Results last one to two years on average. Annual or biannual maintenance sessions keep results consistent. The natural aging process and lifestyle factors continue to act on the skin, which is why a maintenance approach delivers the most consistent outcome.
Ultherapy delivers real, visible lift that builds over months. It is not equivalent to a surgical facelift in clients with advanced laxity, and it cannot reverse significant skin sagging entirely. For early to moderate concerns, most clients see meaningful improvement that reads as refreshed and lifted. Your provider will set honest expectations at your You Review.
Yes, and many clients combine it. Ultherapy works well alongside Botox, dermal fillers, biostimulators like Sculptra, RF microneedling, and skincare. Your provider will design a treatment sequence that suits your goals at your You Review.
Ultherapy is more intense than newer ultrasound platforms because the energy reaches the deeper structural layers of the skin. Most clients describe the sensation as spicy and intermittent, more on bonier areas like the jawline, and easier on softer tissue like the cheeks. Your provider will use topical numbing, oral medication, or a combination to keep you comfortable. Most clients find the trade-off worthwhile given the depth of the lift.
There is no real downtime. Most clients return to normal activities immediately, including work and exercise. Some clients see mild redness, slight swelling, or tenderness in the treatment area for a few hours to a couple of days. Bruising is uncommon but possible.
Stay hydrated and apply SPF daily. Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure for the first few days. Avoid active skincare ingredients like retinoids and exfoliating acids for 48 hours. There are otherwise very few restrictions.
Immediately. Most clients leave their session and continue their day with light makeup applied gently over the treated area.
Yes. Ultherapy has been FDA-cleared since 2009 and has a strong long-term safety record across millions of treatments. The visualization technology means the energy is delivered exactly where intended, which improves both safety and consistency. At OrangeTwist, every session is performed by a licensed provider with specific training on the device platform.
Ultherapy is generally not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection in the treatment area, have an implanted electrical device (pacemaker, defibrillator), have severe or cystic acne in the treatment area, have an active cold sore outbreak in the treatment area, or have certain autoimmune conditions. Always disclose your full medication and health history at your You Review.
Common side effects include temporary redness, mild swelling, or tenderness in the treated area, all of which typically resolve within hours to days. Rare side effects include temporary nerve sensation changes or numbness, which usually resolve on their own. Your provider will walk through specific risks at your You Review.
Yes. Ultherapy works on the structural collagen and elastin layers, not the surface pigment of the skin. It is safe across all skin tones and types, with no risk of pigment changes that some surface treatments carry for darker skin tones.
All Ultherapy treatments at OrangeTwist are performed by licensed professionals with specific training on the device platform and supervised by our Medical Advisory Board. To find out more about the team at your nearest Treatment Shop, visit your local center page or get in touch directly.
