About the treatment

The Last Razor You’ll Buy
Done with the constant cycle of shaving, waxing, and growing things back? Laser hair removal disables the follicles that produce hair, gradually, over a series of sessions. Most clients see permanent reduction after six to eight visits.
- Permanent hair reduction
- Safe for every skin tone
- Fast, comfortable sessions
What is laser hair removal and how does it work?
Laser hair removal uses a focused beam of light to target the pigment in the hair follicle. The energy is absorbed by the follicle and converted to heat, which disables its ability to produce new hair. Because the laser only targets actively growing follicles, a series of treatments is needed to catch each hair at the right stage in its cycle.
OrangeTwist uses medical-grade laser technology cleared for all skin tones, including darker phototypes that older systems struggled to treat safely. Your provider will assess your skin and hair at your You Review and program the device to the right wavelength and intensity for you.
Once treated, the disabled follicles do not grow back. Some clients see a small percentage of regrowth over time, typically finer and lighter than before, and an annual maintenance session keeps results consistent.

The OrangeTwist Difference
Every laser hair removal session at OrangeTwist is performed by a licensed provider trained on our specific device platform and supervised by our Medical Advisory Board.
Older laser platforms could not safely treat darker skin tones. Ours can. Your provider will calibrate the device to your specific phototype at your You Review.
Most clients buy laser as a course, not a single session. OrangeTwist packages are priced to reflect that reality, and TwistUp members get exclusive pricing across every visit.
Bright, welcoming, and run by people who genuinely care about your experience. Nothing like a clinical environment.

Your Treatment Timeline

You Review
Your provider will assess your skin tone, hair color, and the areas you want treated. They will walk through a realistic session schedule and pricing for the package that suits you. No pressure. Just an honest plan before anything starts.

Preparation
Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams in the four weeks leading up to a session, as the laser needs an intact follicle to work. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks before your visit.

The Treatment
Your provider will apply a cool gel and pass the laser handpiece over the treatment area. Each pulse feels like a quick warm snap, the spicy end of the menu, but most clients find it manageable. A small area like the upper lip takes minutes. A full leg takes around 30 to 45.

Aftercare
Mild redness or slight warmth in the treated area is normal and settles within a few hours. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and direct sun for 24 hours. Apply SPF 30 or higher every day on treated areas for the duration of your course. Your provider will share full aftercare at your visit.
Smooth happens in stages.
You will not see full results after one session. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only treat follicles in their active growth phase. After two or three sessions, most clients notice slower regrowth, thinner hairs, and patches that stop growing back. After the full course, typically six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, treated areas are functionally hair-free. An annual maintenance session keeps results consistent for most clients. Hormonal changes (pregnancy, menopause) can prompt some new follicles to wake up, which is why some clients return for top-ups.

Laser hair removal is a medical aesthetic treatment that uses focused light energy to disable hair follicles, reducing hair growth permanently over a series of sessions. It is one of the most established and well-studied hair removal methods in cosmetic medicine.
The laser emits a wavelength of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The energy converts to heat, which damages the follicle and prevents it from producing new hair. Because the laser only affects actively growing follicles, multiple sessions are needed to catch each follicle in its growth phase.
After a full course, most clients experience permanent hair reduction. Some clients see a small percentage of regrowth over time, typically finer and lighter. An annual maintenance session keeps results consistent for most clients.
Most clients need six to eight sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. The exact number depends on the treatment area, your hair type, and your hair growth cycle. Your provider will map out a realistic schedule at your You Review.
Yes. Modern laser hair removal platforms, including the device used at OrangeTwist, are cleared for all skin tones from very fair to deeply pigmented. Your provider will calibrate the wavelength and energy settings to your specific phototype at your You Review.
Laser hair removal works best on hair that contains melanin (the pigment the laser targets). Blonde, red, gray, and white hair contain little melanin and respond poorly to laser. If your hair falls into one of these categories, your provider will discuss alternatives at your You Review.
Almost anywhere with unwanted hair: underarms, bikini, Brazilian, legs, arms, face (lip, chin, cheeks), back, chest, stomach, and neck. Your provider will confirm the exact areas at your You Review.
Yes. Every OrangeTwist laser hair removal client starts with a complimentary You Review. Your provider will assess your skin tone, hair color, and the areas you want treated, then walk through a realistic plan and pricing before anything is booked.
Your provider will examine the treatment area, discuss any medications or skin conditions, and may perform a small test patch to confirm the device settings. They will then walk through pricing, package options, and a realistic timeline.
Let your provider know about any photosensitizing medications, recent sun exposure, skin conditions, history of cold sores (for facial treatments), or pregnancy. These can all affect timing or technique.
Pricing depends on the treatment area, the package, and your local center. Because laser is most effective as a course, OrangeTwist prices packages of sessions rather than single visits. Your provider will walk through exact pricing at your You Review.
A small area like the upper lip or underarms takes about 15 minutes. A full leg or back takes 30 to 45 minutes. Your provider will confirm timing for your specific package.
Yes. TwistUp membership includes exclusive pricing on laser hair removal packages, plus TwistMode points on every visit and Beauty Bank credit toward future treatments.
Yes. OrangeTwist offers financing through CareCredit, Alle Cherry, and PatientFi. Ask your provider about options at your You Review.
You will notice slower regrowth and thinner hairs after two or three sessions. By session four or five, most clients see patches that stop growing back entirely. After the full course, treated areas are functionally hair-free.
Follicles disabled by the laser do not grow back. Some clients see a small percentage of regrowth over time, usually finer and lighter than the original hair. Hormonal changes can prompt new follicles to wake up, which is why an annual maintenance session is recommended.
For most clients, treated follicles stay disabled long-term. An annual maintenance session is recommended to address any new follicle activity, particularly around hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause.
Most clients describe each pulse as a quick warm snap, the spicy end of the menu but easily manageable. The sensation eases as the session progresses and the device cools the skin between pulses. Topical numbing cream is available on request for sensitive areas.
Most clients compare it to the snap of a rubber band against the skin, followed by a brief warmth. Areas with thicker hair or thinner skin (bikini, lip) tend to feel more, while areas with finer hair feel less.
For 24 hours: avoid hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, and direct sun exposure. Apply SPF 30 or higher to treated areas every day. Avoid waxing, plucking, or any hair removal method that pulls the follicle during your course.
You can shave the treatment area as soon as the skin is no longer warm or red, usually within 24 to 48 hours. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams during your course.
Yes. Medical-grade laser hair removal is one of the most established treatments in aesthetic medicine, with decades of clinical use. At OrangeTwist, every session is performed by a licensed provider trained on our specific device platform.
Laser hair removal is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a recent active tan or sunburn in the treatment area, are taking photosensitizing medications, have a history of keloid scarring, or have certain skin conditions affecting the treatment area. Always disclose your full medication and health history at your You Review.
The most common side effects are mild redness, slight swelling, or warmth in the treated area, all of which resolve within a few hours. Rare side effects include pigment changes or blistering, which is why proper device calibration and trained providers matter.
Active sun tans (including self-tanner) increase the risk of pigment changes and burns. Wait two to four weeks after sun exposure or fading the tan before your session. Your provider will assess the skin at your appointment and reschedule if needed.
Laser hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy due to a lack of clinical safety data, not a known risk. We ask clients to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to begin or resume a course.
