Juvederm at OrangeTwist
The most recognized name in hyaluronic acid filler, used by our licensed providers for everything from lips and cheeks to jawlines and tear troughs. One family. Multiple formulations. Built around your face, not a template.
About the treatment

The whole Juvederm family. One You Review.
Juvederm is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers made by Allergan, the same company behind Botox. Each formulation is engineered for a specific job: some are dense enough to build a cheekbone, some are soft enough to define a lip. Our providers select the right product for the area you actually want to refresh, in the amount that actually suits your face.
- One family, many formulations
- Built for natural-looking volume
- Fully reversible and FDA-approved
What is Juvederm and how does it work?
Juvederm is a range of hyaluronic acid filler products made by Allergan. Hyaluronic acid is a substance the body already produces, which helps skin hold water and structure. When injected, Juvederm adds volume directly to the area being treated, supports the tissue around it, and integrates with the skin over time.
What sets the Juvederm family apart is the technology behind it. Most Juvederm products are made with VYCROSS, a process that links hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes to create a smooth, longer-lasting gel. Different products in the range use different gel densities for different jobs: softer formulations for fine lines and lips, denser formulations for cheekbones and jawlines. Your provider picks the product based on the area, not the price tag.
Because Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, it is also reversible. If a result is not quite right, your provider can dissolve it with hyaluronidase. That single fact makes it one of the most forgiving injectables on the menu.

Your Treatment Timeline

You Review
Your provider examines your face, listens to your goals, and walks through which Juvederm products and how much of each would actually suit you. They will walk through pricing transparently. No pressure to book filler on the day.

Preparation
Avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days before your appointment where possible. Skip alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Skip intensive workouts the morning of. Come in with a clean face. Eat beforehand. Hydrate.

The Treatment
Your provider marks the injection points and applies a topical numbing cream. Juvederm products are formulated with lidocaine built in, which makes the injections themselves more comfortable. The treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many areas and products are involved. Most clients find the spicy end manageable.

Aftercare
Some swelling, redness, and pinpoint bruising at the injection sites is normal for 24 to 48 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, heat (saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms), and alcohol for the first 24 hours. Avoid touching or massaging the area unless your provider instructs otherwise. Most clients return to work and social life the next day.
Subtle, settled, and naturally yours.
You will see initial results immediately, though swelling masks the final outcome for the first one to two weeks. As the swelling settles, your final result becomes clear. The filler integrates with the surrounding tissue and reads as part of your face rather than an addition to it.
The longer-lasting products are not always the best choice.
Sometimes a softer, shorter-acting product is exactly what an area needs. Your provider will recommend based on the result, not the duration.

Frequently Asked
Questions and Answers
Juvederm is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers made by Allergan, the same company that makes Botox. It is one of the most widely used and well-studied filler ranges in the world. Each product in the Juvederm family is FDA-approved for a specific use, from lip enhancement to cheek and jawline contouring.
Juvederm is made by Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company. Allergan is the same manufacturer behind Botox Cosmetic, SkinMedica, CoolSculpting, and the Allē loyalty program.
Juvederm works by adding hyaluronic acid directly to the area being treated. Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water in the skin, which immediately adds volume and supports the surrounding tissue. Most Juvederm products are made with VYCROSS technology, which links hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes to create a smooth, longer-lasting gel.
The Juvederm family includes Voluma XC and Volux XC for structural areas like cheeks, chin, and jawline; Vollure XC and Volbella XC for lines and lips with movement; Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC for lip volume and deeper lines; and Skinvive, a microdroplet injection for skin smoothness in the cheeks. Your provider will select the right product or combination at your You Review.
Yes. Every product in the Juvederm family is FDA-approved for the specific use your provider recommends it for.
Juvederm is one of the most studied filler ranges available. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body already produces, and Juvederm is fully reversible with hyaluronidase if needed. Like any injectable, there are risks (bruising, swelling, asymmetry, rare vascular complications), which is why provider training and technique matter so much. Every Juvederm injection at OrangeTwist is performed by a licensed medical provider.
Juvederm Voluma XC is the densest of the original Juvederm range, designed to add structural volume to the cheeks, chin, and jawline. Results last up to 2 years.
Juvederm Volux XC is specifically designed for jawline definition and projection. It is the densest product in the Juvederm family, built for structural contouring along the lower face. Results last up to 18 months.
Juvederm Vollure XC is designed for moderate to severe smile lines and marionette lines. It smooths the lines without flattening the expression around them. Results last up to 18 months.
Juvederm Volbella XC is the softest in the family, designed for subtle lip enhancement and the fine lines around the mouth. It moves with the face, which makes it well suited to areas of high expression. Results last up to 12 months.
Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC are the original Juvederm lip formulations. Both are designed for lip volume and shape, with Ultra Plus delivering more pronounced fullness. Results last up to 12 months.
Juvederm Skinvive is different from the rest of the Juvederm family. It is a microdroplet injection that improves skin smoothness and hydration in the cheeks, rather than adding volume to a specific area. Results last around 6 months.
That is exactly what your You Review is for. Your provider will examine your face, listen to your goals, and recommend a product or combination based on the area, the result you want, and the amount of movement that area sees. There is no single right answer across the family.
Juvederm products are FDA-approved for use in the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, and the fine lines around the mouth. Skinvive is approved for the cheeks. Off-label uses such as tear troughs are commonly performed and will be discussed if relevant at your You Review.
Yes. Volbella XC, Ultra XC, and Ultra Plus XC are all designed for lip enhancement. The right product depends on whether you are looking for subtle definition, balanced fullness, or pronounced volume.
Yes. Voluma XC is the Juvederm family’s cheek and midface product. It restores structural volume that softens over time and lifts the surrounding tissue.
Tear trough filler is commonly performed with Juvederm Volbella XC. The tear trough is a particularly technique-dependent area, which is why the provider matters more than the product.
Yes. Every OrangeTwist Juvederm client starts with a complimentary You Review. Your provider examines your facial structure, listens to your goals, recommends products and amounts, and walks through pricing before anything is booked.
Yes, in many cases. If your You Review confirms Juvederm is the right choice and you are ready to proceed, your provider can often carry out the treatment in the same appointment. There is no pressure to proceed on the day.
Let your provider know about any medications you are taking, previous cosmetic injections (including filler in other locations), known allergies, cold sore history (especially for lip filler), autoimmune conditions, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Juvederm is priced per syringe, with pricing varying by product. Voluma XC and Volux XC sit at the top of the range. Vollure, Volbella, Ultra XC, and Ultra Plus XC sit in the middle. Skinvive is its own pricing tier. Your provider walks through exact pricing for your plan at your You Review. TwistUp members receive exclusive pricing on every visit.
That depends on the area and the result you are after. Lip enhancement typically uses 1 syringe to start. Cheek volume usually uses 1 to 2 syringes per side. Jawline contouring can use 2 to 4 syringes depending on the structural goal. Your provider will recommend a realistic plan, including whether to spread the treatment across more than one appointment.
Yes. Allē is Allergan’s loyalty program, and every Juvederm treatment at OrangeTwist earns Allē points. Link your account before your You Review and the points stack from your first visit. Points can be redeemed against future Juvederm, Botox, and SkinMedica purchases.
Yes. TwistUp members receive exclusive pricing on Juvederm, plus Beauty Bank credit accrues monthly toward future treatments.
Yes. OrangeTwist partners with Cherry, CareCredit, and PatientFi for financing on aesthetic treatments including Juvederm. Your local center can walk through the options.
Some swelling, redness, and pinpoint bruising at the injection sites is normal for 24 to 48 hours. Most clients return to work and social life the next day. Lip filler typically swells more than other areas in the first day.
Most swelling resolves within 24 to 72 hours. Lips can stay slightly swollen for up to a week. Final results settle around the two-week mark, which is also when any small refinement appointment would typically be scheduled.
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, given as an injection. OrangeTwist providers carry hyaluronidase on-site. This is one of the key safety features of HA fillers and a major reason Juvederm remains the most widely used filler family.
The most common side effects are temporary and mild: redness, swelling, tenderness, firmness, lumps, bumps, bruising, and discoloration at the injection site. These typically resolve within a week. Rare but serious side effects, including vascular complications, are why provider training and technique matter so much.
Juvederm is generally not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, have an active skin infection in the treatment area, or have a history of severe allergic reactions. Always disclose your full medication and health history at your You Review.
