It delivers controlled ultrasound energy into the mid-dermis, precisely heating the tissue layer where collagen and elastin live. What is Sofwave and how does it work?
Sofwave is an FDA-cleared non-invasive skin tightening device that uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB) technology. The device delivers controlled ultrasound energy deep into the skin where collagen and elastin sit, heating the tissue to the temperature that triggers collagen remodeling without damaging the surface skin above.
As the body responds, fibroblasts produce new collagen and elastin, gradually rebuilding the structural support of the skin. Results build over three months as the new collagen matures. The treated area becomes firmer, slightly lifted, and visibly smoother.

Onboarding
There is very little to do beforehand. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks before your session. Come in with clean skin, no makeup or skincare products. Hydrate well in the days leading up. Avoid blood thinners where possible to minimize the risk of bruising.
During treatment
Your provider will apply ultrasound gel and pass the Sofwave handpiece across the treatment area in a systematic pattern. The built-in cooling protects the surface skin, while the ultrasound energy heats the mid-dermis below. Each pulse is spicy for a moment as the heat builds, then resolves. Total treatment time is typically 30 to 45 minutes.
What’s Next?
There is no real downtime. You can return to work, exercise, and your normal routine immediately. Some clients see mild redness or warmth in the treatment area for a few hours.
