Dermal fillers are gel-based injectables, most made from hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already produces. They add volume, smooth lines, and define features. At our Dallas center, filler is delivered by licensed injectors who carry the Juvederm and Restylane families, plus Sculptra and Skinvive, so the product can be matched to the job.
How dermal fillers work
Hyaluronic acid binds water and holds its shape, so when it is placed under the skin it restores volume right where it is needed and draws in hydration around it. Different formulations have different thicknesses: softer gels sit close to the surface for lips and fine lines, while denser gels work deeper to rebuild cheekbones, jawline, and chin. Your injector chooses the product to suit the area.

You Review
Your injector studies your face at rest and in motion, listens to what you want, and recommends a product and plan, sometimes suggesting a different area than you expected for a more balanced result. Pricing is walked through before anything is drawn up.
Preparation
Skip blood thinners like ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil for a few days where you safely can, and avoid alcohol the night before to reduce bruising. If you have an event coming up, leave two weeks so any swelling has fully settled.
The Treatment
Most fillers contain lidocaine and your injector also applies a topical numbing cream, so the area is comfortable. The injection itself takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the areas. Most clients describe the spicy end of manageable, gone in a second.
Aftercare
Expect some swelling, mild bruising, and tenderness for 24 to 72 hours. Use cool compresses, sleep elevated, and avoid pressure on the area for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24 to 48 hours. Your injector shares specific aftercare for your areas.
