Prepare for your HA Filler treatment
Skip blood thinners like ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil for a few days where you safely can, and avoid alcohol the night before to reduce bruising. If you have an event coming up, leave up to two weeks so any swelling has fully settled.
The Treatment
Most fillers contain lidocaine and your injector also applies a topical numbing cream, so the area is comfortable. The injection itself takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the areas.
Aftercare
Expect some swelling, mild bruising, and tenderness for 24 to 72 hours. Use cool compresses, sleep elevated, and avoid pressure on the area for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24 to 48 hours. Your injector shares specific aftercare for your areas.
