Injected into specific areas of the face, they restore volume, smooth lines, and refine contours by sitting in the layer of skin where your own hyaluronic acid has thinned over time. Why reversible matters
Because hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible, the treatment is one of the more controllable options in aesthetic medicine. If a result is not quite right, your injector can dissolve the filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. That single fact is why HA filler is one of the more forgiving injectables on the menu.

Preparation
Avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days beforehand where possible. Skip alcohol for 24 hours. Avoid intensive workouts the morning of. Come in with a clean face, eat beforehand, and hydrate.
The Treatment
Your injector marks the injection points and applies a topical numbing cream. Most filler products also contain lidocaine, which makes the injections themselves more comfortable. The procedure takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the areas being treated. Most clients find the spicy end of each injection very manageable.
Aftercare
Expect some swelling, mild bruising, and tenderness for 24 to 72 hours. Use cool compresses, sleep elevated, and avoid pressure on the treated area for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours. Your injector will share specific aftercare for your treatment areas.

Initial results are visible right away, though swelling will mask the final outcome for the first one to two weeks. You will see volume and shape change immediately, but the polish takes two weeks to land.

Swelling settles and the filler integrates with the surrounding tissue. It softens visually and reads as part of your face rather than an addition to it. This is when most clients see the settled result.

Results last anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on the product, the area treated, and how your body metabolizes hyaluronic acid. Lips tend to need more frequent touch-ups. Cheek and jawline fillers tend to last longer.
