What Is Botox, and How Does It Work?
What is Botox?
Botox Cosmetic is an FDA-approved injectable made from botulinum toxin type A. It is one of the most studied aesthetic treatments in the world, with millions of treatments performed each year. At our Tustin center, every injection is carried out by a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse who specialises in facial aesthetics.
How Botox works
Botox temporarily relaxes the facial muscles responsible for expression lines. The injection blocks the chemical signal that tells those muscles to contract. The skin above softens, and lines become noticeably smoother. The effect is temporary, which is what makes the treatment so controllable and adjustable over time.
Why it works for the face you actually have
This is not about changing your face. It is about accentuating a version of it that looks genuinely refreshed. In experienced hands, Botox delivers results tailored to your goals and wears naturally over three to four months. Your Tustin provider will map a plan based on how your face moves, not a template.

No concerns found.
Why Botox at OrangeTwist Tustin
Six reasons clients across Tustin, North Tustin, Tustin Legacy, Irvine Spectrum, and Anaheim Hills choose OrangeTwist Portola Parkway for their Botox over the dozens of other options in central Orange County.
Done well, Botox softens lines without flattening expression. Our Tustin team treats for movement, not against it. The goal is for you to still look like you, just less like you stayed up arguing on the internet last night.
Sherry Lin is a Nurse Practitioner. Ashley Paz and Dianne Ha are both Registered Nurses, and Dianne is a certified CoolSculpting Trainer. That clinical depth gives you a real injector, not a tech with a weekend certificate.
Most appointments wrap in 20 to 30 minutes. You can drive yourself home, head back to work at The District at Tustin Legacy, or carry on with your day at Tustin Marketplace the same afternoon.
Starting Botox earlier in small doses can slow the formation of new expression lines. Many of our Tustin clients use it preventatively in their late twenties and thirties on a quarterly cadence.
Every You Review is on us, every time. Not just on your first visit. Any time you want to reassess, change cadence, or layer in something new, the consultation is on us.
TwistUp membership unlocks exclusive per-unit pricing on every visit. Link your Allēe account before your visit and the points stack from day one. Most clients are surprised how fast this adds up.
Your visit
What to Expect at Your Tustin Botox Appointment
From the first hello to the moment you walk back out to the parking lot at Pavilions, here is how a Botox visit at OrangeTwist Tustin actually runs.

You Review
Your Botox journey starts with a complimentary You Review. A licensed provider will get to know your face, listen to your goals, and map out a personalised plan. No pressure, no hard sell. Just honest, expert guidance before anything begins.

Preparation
A few days before your appointment, avoid blood thinners like ibuprofen and aspirin where possible, and hold off on alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Come in with a clean face. That is all there is to it. Note that we schedule injectables and laser treatments at least two weeks apart. Your provider will explain why at your consultation.

The Treatment
Your provider uses a very fine needle to deliver small, precise amounts of Botox into the targeted muscles. The whole process takes 15 to 30 minutes. Most clients describe each injection as the lightest spicy on the menu, gone in a second.

Aftercare
Stay upright for four hours, skip the gym for the rest of the day, and steer clear of rubbing or applying pressure to the treated areas. Light redness or minor swelling at the injection sites is normal and settles quickly. Your provider will confirm exactly what to expect at your appointment.
Your results
Real Results from Real Tustin Clients
The benchmark our Portola Parkway providers work to is simple: people notice something has changed without being able to say exactly what. Below is what to realistically expect from a Botox visit at OrangeTwist Tustin, and how results build with consistency.
-
When you see results
Most clients start to see Botox kick in within three to five days, with full results showing up around two weeks after treatment. Your provider may invite you back for a two-week check to fine-tune anything that needs it.
-
How long results last
Results typically last three to four months. Many clients stretch it to five with a consistent schedule. Over time, the targeted muscles become less active between appointments, which can mean less product needed and more time between visits.
-
Building a maintenance rhythm
Botox lands best as part of a routine, not a one-off. Your Tustin provider will map out a realistic maintenance plan based on how your results settle, and how your face moves through everyday life.
Botox in Tustin: Frequently Asked
The questions Tustin clients ask most often before booking Botox at our Portola Parkway center. If yours is not here, bring it along when you book.
We are at 3865 Portola Parkway, Suite 900, in the same shopping center as Pavilions, off Portola Parkway and Culver Drive. The physical address shows Irvine 92602 but the center serves Tustin, Tustin Legacy, North Tustin, and the surrounding area.
From Tustin Marketplace, head east on Irvine Boulevard and turn south onto Jamboree, then east onto Portola Parkway. From Irvine Spectrum, take Sand Canyon Avenue north to Portola Parkway. Both routes are under fifteen minutes outside of rush hour.
Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Closed Sundays. Call the center on (657) 427-1996 to check same-day availability.
Botox is delivered by our Nurse Practitioner Sherry Lin and our Registered Nurses Ashley Paz and Dianne Ha. Dianne is also a certified CoolSculpting Trainer. Treatments are performed under the medical supervision of Dr. Taylor R. Pollei, MD.
Not in our hands. The Tustin team treats for movement, not against it. The goal is softer expression lines, not a face that cannot make an expression at all. If you have had Botox elsewhere that left you feeling frozen, bring that up at your consultation. They can dose lower or place differently to keep more movement in your forehead and brow.
All four are FDA-approved neurotoxins that do the same job: temporarily relax expression muscles to soften lines. They differ slightly in onset, longevity, and formulation. Botox is the most clinically studied. Dysport spreads a little more (useful for forehead). Daxxify can last longer. Jeuveau is often a more cost-effective alternative. Your provider will recommend what fits your face at your visit.
Not really. Most clients describe each injection as the lightest spicy on the menu, gone in a second. Your provider can apply topical numbing if you would prefer.
Yes. Botox pairs well with Hydrafacial, dermal fillers, microneedling, and most facials. One important Tustin-specific note: we space injectables and laser treatments at least two weeks apart to protect both results, so plan accordingly if you are combining with IPL, Icon, or Twist & Glo.
Most clients start to see Botox kick in within three to five days, with full results around two weeks after treatment. Your provider may invite you back for a two-week check to fine-tune anything that needs it.
Usually three to four months. Some clients stretch it to five with a regular cadence. Your provider will map out a schedule that matches your face, not a calendar.
Yes. Botox has no real downtime. Stay upright for four hours, skip the gym for the rest of the day, and avoid rubbing the treated areas. You can drive yourself home or back to your day immediately after.
Botox at OrangeTwist Tustin starts from $295. Your final price depends on the areas being treated and the number of units your provider recommends. As a guide, frown lines (the 11s) typically use 20 to 25 units. Crow’s feet typically use 10 to 12 units per side. Your complimentary consultation walks through pricing transparently before anything is booked. TwistUp members get exclusive pricing on every visit.
Three ways. One: TwistUp membership unlocks exclusive per-unit pricing on every visit, plus Beauty Bank credit toward future treatments. Two: link your Allēe account before your visit and the points stack from your first treatment. Three: Signature Journeys like Tox on the Rocks bundle Botox with LED therapy and facials at a single cadence-based price. Your provider will walk through what fits when you come in.
