What Is Sofwave and How Does It Work?
What is Sofwave?
Sofwave is an FDA-cleared non-surgical skin tightening and lifting treatment that uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam SUPERB technology to deliver focused ultrasound energy into the mid-layer of the skin. The energy heats targeted tissue precisely, triggering the body’s natural collagen and elastin production. Over three to six months, treated skin tightens and lifts visibly, without surgery, without injection, and without downtime.
How Sofwave works
Sofwave’s ultrasound beams are delivered through a single transducer that heats the precise depth of skin where collagen forms (1.5mm below the surface). The targeted heat damages a small zone of tissue, which prompts the body to repair and remodel with fresh collagen and elastin. The result is gradual, natural-looking lifting and tightening over the months that follow.
Why it works without downtime
Unlike laser resurfacing or surgical lifts, Sofwave does not break the surface of the skin. The energy targets only the layer that produces collagen, leaving the surface fully intact. You can walk out and resume normal activities immediately, including makeup, exercise, and sun exposure (with SPF).

From the first hello to the moment you walk back out to the parking lot at Pavilions, here is how a Sofwave visit at OrangeTwist Tustin actually runs.
Your You Review
Your provider will examine the area you want to treat, walk through realistic expectations for lifting and tightening, and map out a plan. Sofwave is typically a single treatment with maintenance once every one to two years. Pricing is walked through transparently before anything is booked.
Preparation
Shave the treatment area the day before (do not wax, pluck, or epilate, the laser needs the root intact). Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks beforehand (vital in south OC). Come in with clean, product-free skin.
The Treatment
Your provider applies ultrasound gel to the treatment area and guides the Sofwave transducer across it. Each pulse delivers focused ultrasound energy to the collagen layer 1.5mm below the surface. You may feel brief warmth or a snapping sensation as each pulse fires. Most clients describe it as manageable, especially compared to older ultrasound systems. The full treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area.
Aftercare
Mild redness or sensitivity is normal for a few hours. Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and intensive exercise for 24 hours. Use SPF 30 or higher on the treated area for the next two weeks (south OC sun is no joke). Hair will start to shed over the following two weeks. That is normal.
